Product Description

Round patch, blue and white in color with gold caduceus, states: "I AM A SERVICE DOG".

  • Click here to see examples of vests with patches
  • Most people use two, one on each side (except on Tiny and X-Small)
  • All patches are 3.5 inches wide
  • Patches are sold each, not pairs
  • These are NOT iron on patches. We suggest sewing them or using Rhino Glue to attach them to your vest.

All patches are 3.5 inches wide. They can be used individually or in combination with other patches. These are not iron on patches. You'll need to either glue the patch onto the vest or you (or someone you know) will need to sew these patches on as our dogs haven't learned how to do that yet. If you are going to sew a patch on the pocket area of the cape, you'll need to sew it by hand. If you put it on the top of the cape you can use a machine. You can also have your vest custom embroidered, again you'll need to do that once you get your vest.

The Tiny and X-Small jackets do not have enough space for the round patches to be placed on the side. Instead you can place one round patch in the middle on the back. Patches are sold each, not pairs. There are no rules that dictate where or how many patches should be on a vest. Most people use two of each patch, one for each side.

The patches will arrive stapled in a plastic bag to your invoice. Since they are small they are sometimes missed as this attachment.

"I really liked your prices for your therapy and service dog items. I was looking at other online venues and this one was one of the least expensive ones and had more options than other venues."

It is fraudulent to represent your dog as a service animal if it is not.

Here is some important information about service dogs:

Service Dog Definition: Only dogs are recognized as service animals under titles II and III of the ADA. Service Dogs are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, reminding a person with mental illness to take prescribed medications, calming a person with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) during an anxiety attack, or performing other duties. Service animals are working animals, not pets. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person's disability. Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support are known as therapy dogs. They do not qualify as service animals under the ADA. This definition does not affect or limit the broader definition of "assistance animal" under the Fair Housing Act or the broader definition of "service animal" under the Air Carrier Access Act. Some State and local laws also define service animal more broadly than the ADA does. Information about such laws can be obtained from the State attorney general's office, or one can visit the ADA website for further information on service dogs.

I do not usually write a review, but the patches were very well made. I will order from this company again and will recommend them to anyone who has a need.

  4. This Patch wears like Iron! Her service vest is washed every other day...it NEVER fades

This is the EXACT message to provide to the Public for a Working Dog. I tried the "Don't Pet Me" patch but people seem to always want to touch the top of my Service Dog's head. It's taken me a number of years to find the right thing to say to keep "hands off", and still people will slip in behind my back for a touch. This Patch has the Medical Symbol on it so the message is very clear. Thank you for this excellent product.

  7. A MUST HAVE FOR SERVICE ANIMAL OWNERS

Posted by Linda Massie on 22nd Oct 2013

After being bothered by people who didn't believe my dog was a Service Dog because I didn't have "a patch", I
finally got one. Actually, two and a "In Training" patch for another dog I rescued.
What a difference in people's attitudes! I also highly recommend the patches for the excellent quality with which they are made. Would have given 5 stars if the patches came in smaller sizes.

  8. Quality service dog patch.

Posted by Dawn on 14th Oct 2013

This service dog patch was exactly as described. Large enough to easily be seen by others. I used a hot glue gun to apply and have had no issues. I use this on my dogs heavier jackets for when we are out in cold weather. It's so nice to be able to by whatever sweater I want and easily apply these important identifying patches.

  9. Great Quality

The patches are exactly as I exspected. Clear well made and easy to apply.
