This Saddle Bag service dog vest is durable and light weight. The dog can carry your pocketbook, keys, SitStay Service Dog Cards, bottled water, leash, poop bags, cell phone, an extra snack for both of you, and the mail…anything you need. Two adjustable straps: one slips over the dog's head and the other secures underneath with a 1 1/2 inch wide strap. Velcro® Slimline zippered pockets (extra large rubber pulls) on each side and a small zippered pocket on the top. High visibility reflective trim on each side for added safety in low light conditions. Available in three colors. Hand wash, drip dry.
The Saddle Bag is often used as a back pack or ServiceDogCape with pockets. As a dog pack, it may be used as a weight pack. Dry beans or rice make a nice comfy weight to give your dog a carrying job. Many dogs who pull or will not settle into a quiet walk are better behaved dogs when they carry weight.
Caution: Please don't overload your dog or over stuff the Saddle Bag. Don't over load the Saddle Bag or the seams may wear out more quickly. Our example photo shows what can fit into the bag, not necessarily what you should load it down with all at once! Until we can cross a mule with a dog….oh, no, wait….we wouldn't do that!

The material and construction are the top-quality you'd expect from Wolfpacks, but this is sort of an odd pack. I bought it for my service dog when I didn't want to use his full-size Wolfpacks pack, which tends to be too large in tight quarters, even empty. This pack is flat and a nice size for poop bags, folding water bowl, some treats, my phone and wallet. A water bottle would only work if counterbalanced and even then the flat design of the pouch isn't really meant for such an object.
THE PROBLEM?? The closures! The strap around the dog's neck is adjustable, but there is no buckle, so needs to be yanked over the dog's head for removal. And the worst is that the belly strap uses VELCRO, not a quick-release buckle, for closure. It's awkward, time-consuming and if your dog is furry, won't be very effective once clogged with undercoat. Such a shame because otherwise this is such a nicely made and unique little pack. Brogan gives FIVE stars for quality, ONE star for that darn Velcro: THREE starts overall.
I got this pack for Cura, my Service Dog, so that she had something 'in between' her vest and her full pack. The quality was wonderful and it was the perfect size for what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the underside closure is velcro which did not work well for us. The pack was constantly slipping because I was not able to get the strap adjusted well. I did pass the pack on to friends who find it very useful, though they use it as a training tool rather than a working pack.
I would definitely consider giving this pack another try if the velcro was replaced with an adjustable, clipped strap. I agree with a previous reviewer -- great quality, poor strap closure. Overall, I give it a 3 because I think can work for some, depending on the circumstances.
