Comfy and cozy, the Big Shrimpy Nest is as much a mattress as it is a dog bed! The Nest dog bed is stuffed thick and heavy with SmartFill™, 100% recycled fiber. These beds do not crater like other dog beds. They flatten out evenly and can be "re-fluffed" easily. Big Shrimpy pet beds were inspired by all the dog beds that are quickly thrown away because they get stinky, dirty, wear out, or their material can't survive the washing machine.

The Nest dog bed is stuffed with SmartFill, a 100% pre-consumer recycled polyester fiber. It's a dense, cushiony fiber that makes these beds feel much more substantial than most other beds. Because SmartFill is made of many individual tufts of fiber, the beds can be opened up and “re-fluffed” to restore the loft of the fiber. This bed can be entirely disassembled, machine washed and dried. This bed is not chew proof. If your dog chews fabric, it's not a good choice for you.

The outer walls and removable center pillow of the Nest beds are made of soft polyester fleece or faux suede. The base is made of water-resistant, 420 denier nylon cloth (the same durable material used in outdoor gear). They unzip to access an inner bolster and cushion made of rip-stop nylon.

NOTE: Because of the heavy duty nylon fabric used, you may hear an occasional "crinkle" sound when your dog is settling in for a snooze or moving around. The inner bolster and cushion are filled with SmartFill™ and are odor- and water-resistant. However, if ever necessary they can be unzipped to remove and wash the SmartFill. Of course, the outer covers and inner bolster/cushion are washable as well.

Washing a Big Shrimpy Nest pet bed is easy and it smells so nice and fresh when it's all back together! The outer cover unzips to remove the inner cushion and/or bolster. The inner cushion/bolster also unzip so that the SmartFill may be removed. The outer cover and empty inner cushion liner may be washed separately in your home washing machine or at a laundromat.

Machine wash warm using a gentle soap that will not irritate your pet’s coat. Tumble dry on LOW heat. Do not over-dry.

SmartFill is also machine washable and dryable. Due to the volume of the SmartFill, we recommend it be washed and dried at a laundromat separately from the outer cover and inner cushion liner. Tuck the SmartFill back into the inner cushion/bolster and reassemble the bed.
