Comfy and warm. Not just a dog bed, it's a mattress! The Big Shrimpy dog bed is stuffed thick and heavy with SmartFill™, 100% recycled fiber. The sides of the bed are 5 inches tall. These beds do not crater like other dog beds. They flatten out evenly and can be "re-fluffed" easily. Big Shrimpy pet beds were inspired by all the dog beds that are quickly thrown away because they get stinky, dirty, wear out, or their material can't survive the washing machine. SmartFill™ is a 100% pre-consumer recycled polyester fiber. It is machine washable and dryable. SmartFill is a dense, cushiony fiber that makes these beds feel more substantial when compared to most other beds. Because SmartFill is made of many individual tufts of fiber, the beds can be opened up and “refluffed” to restore the loft of the fiber. This bed can be entirely disassembled, machine washed and dried. This bed is not chew proof. If your dog chews fabric, it's not a good choice for you.

Bottom and sides of the outer shell are water-resistant, 420 denier nylon cloth (the same durable material used in outdoor gear). The sleeping surface is polyester fleece. The outer shell closes with a zipper. The inner bag is water-resistant rip-stop nylon and is also zippered. NOTE: Because of the heavy duty nylon fabric used, you may hear an occasional "crinkle" sound when your dog is settling in for a snooze or moving around.

Washing a Big Shrimpy Original pet bed is easy and it smells so nice and fresh when it's all back together! The outer cover unzips to remove the inner liner. The inner liner also unzips so that the SmartFill may be removed. Wash the outer cover, inner liner-bag, and SmartFill in warm water on the gentle cycle Use a mild detergent which won't irritate your dog's skin. If you get a medium or large dog bed, it may take multiple wash loads....there's a lot of great filling in this mattress. Due to the volume of the SmartFill, it is suggested that it be washed and dried at a laundromat in the high capacity machines. Air-dry or put into the dryer on LOW heat. Do not over-dry. Tuck the filling back into the inner bag, the inner bag back into the outer shell, zip it up and your dog has a nice clean bed for the night.
