"I really liked your prices for your therapy and service dog items. I was looking at other online venues and this one was one of the least expensive ones and had more options than other venues." --- Denise, CO

"I received my dogs patches and vest yesterday, much quicker than I had expected!!! The products are outstanding, the vest fits perfectly, and I loved the zip pockets and reflective strips on the vest. The best purchase I have ever made!!! Thank you so much!!" --- Satisfied SitStay Customer
The most important thing you can do to make sure you order the right vest is to measure your dog using these instructions. If you don't measure, you're taking a chance that you'll have to return it and reorder. Measure your dog once and you'll be done!
Use a soft fabric measuring tape. Measure all the way around the rib cage, full circle. Just like a saddle fits a horse. Your dog must be standing. (see diagram).

NOTE: If you have a really small dog, the Tiny vest can be altered to fit. Cut a strip out and sew it back together with a sewing machine. This will allow you to go down to a 9 inch girth.

What does the vest color mean?

Nothing really. There is no regulation that says your dog has to wear a certain color of service vest or cape. You simply get the one you like best.
Vests DO NOT come with patches on them. We sell the patches and you will need to glue or sew them on each vest.
Patches shown are just an example of how you can place them. Feel free to place them as you wish.

I would recommend this to a friend

Knowing people are looking at you and your dog it is important to be at our best ALL the time. Proper grooming and behavior are vital. He looks great and the vest is well fitted. I love the little pockets! He doesn't mind wearing the vest even when he lays down for long periods.

GREAT BUY! Date: July 23, 2010

I LOVE this vest! The zipper pockets can carry the absolute basics and still allow my dog to lay comfortably for any period of time. For me, it is a MUST HAVE item for my Service Dog. Cura is clearly identified and just getting it out lets her know that it is time for work!

Dicey's suit Date: July 27, 2010
I would recommend this to a friend

Dicey loves this and its side pockets are great for keeping extra supplies and all the records we need for places we visit, such as shot records, TD,Inc card and insurance info. Unfortunately the club I belong to wants patches slightly different than your ready to wear so we had to sew them on. A plus and minus. Your material is really sturdy but it makes it hard to sew the patches.

Great for Travel Date: August 27, 2010

I take Amtrak a lot and I always had Lulu's gold service dog license on her collar but people would still not know she was a service dog. This will make everything clear and I won't have to be cross examined by the conductor anymore. Also, other passengers will know that she is a service dog and won't keep saying things like,

Great for Service Dogs Date: January 13, 2011

I just received the second red vest I've ordered from SitStay, and it looks just as rugged as the first. Now I have one for my service dog to wear while the other is in the wash. They say to hand wash the vests, but I toss my existing one in a garment bag in the washing machine on Gentle cycle then drip dry and it comes out looking like new (except some of the patches, which I bought from a different vendor). The only thing I wish I'd done differently with my first vest (which I'll do with this new vest) is apply ScotchGuard or some other fabric protector immediately, before my dog gets to wear it, to keep the patches and fabric all looking as new as possible. One more unadvertised feature of this product: it really has 3 pockets, not 2: I insert informational sheets about the laws folded up into the part that goes over my dog's back (between the two zippers). If I fold (or trim) carefully a standard piece of paper, it's an exact fit.

Excellent Vest Date: January 14, 2011

I've had two of these vests, and I'm buying a third. Emma outgrew the first one. She's been wearing her second one for over a year, every single day, all day long. It still looks like new. It is so well made. Emma is very athletic (12+ mile a day runner/walker) and this vest has held up like you wouldn't believe. I am buying another one just to have another color for her (she's a standard poodle after all, and a girl just likes new clothes). Quality all the way, and MADE IN THE USA!!!

A Service Dog must Date: October 25, 2011
I would recommend this to a friend

Right out of the box, Fahrenheit was willing to wear this sturdy, attractive vest. My first Service Dog had two SitStay.com vests, one red and the other blue. Ludwig wore the Extra Small size (he was a Chihuahua) and Fahrenheit wears the Medium size (he is a large black Labrador). Be sure to measure your dog so you get the perfect fit. I am pleased to know about SitStay.com's vests for Service Dogs- while a Service Dog is not required to wear a vest, putting one on my dog helps to reduce the intrusive questions from the public about whether or not my dog is "really" working/ legitimate. The vest (and patches) says it all!
