There is an opening on the bottom of the toy so your dog can get at the hidden treasure inside. This is a toy that challenges and develops your dog's intelligence and puzzle solving skills. We think this toy should only be used when you are there to watch and help. A frustrated dog might chew on the toy and ruin it. You don't want that. You should be there to help your dog learn how to properly use the toy and replace the squeak eggs once they have been removed. Then it should be picked up when playtime is over. This toy is about 6" tall, 5 wide and 9 long. Each egg is a little bit bigger than a tennis ball. Made in China

I would recommend this to a friend
My Dane Knox loves this toy. It is good for dogs who like to destroy their stuffed toys because he thinks he's tearing it apart, but he's not!

Our two basenjis LOVE hedgehogs. We have them in all sizes. This is their favorite. First, they love to chew off all the extremities (nose, ears, feet). Next they pull out any stuffing they can get their teeth on. The eggs are a fun challenge to remove, inducing many sling sessions--slinging the hedgehog to make the eggs fly out. Finally, even as torsos only, slinging still works. Two basenji thumbs up!

I bought this for my cairn and lakeland and am amazed it hasn't been destroyed yet.
they seem to love it and carry around the eggs by themselves.

I would recommend this to a friend
I purchased this for our Australian Cattle Dog, who turned out to not be very interested in it so I gave it to our friend's German Shepherd/Husky mix who goes through toys like crazy. She loves this toy! Took possession of it immediately and began pulling out the eggs, then throwing them at our feet to throw for her. We'd throw each egg once or twice then restuff the Hedgehog and give it back to her. Repeat this for most of the evening, until she decided that no one got to touch the toy except her for a while. Definitely seems to be a hit!
