You need a long line? Super Cord! No stretch, very stiff, coils for storage, hard finish so it won't pick up burrs or stickers, and it floats. This probably isn't a cord you'd want to use for everyday walking unless you'll be in heavy sticker country and still want to give your dog some space to exercise without letting go.
* To make shorter lengths, cut cord with a very sharp knife or scissors, then melt the ends with a lighter. Hold the lighter flame at the end of the rope, when the rope melts, roll it on a hard surface to smooth it out. Burning this material is best done outside in a ventilated area. Be careful, fire is good and hot!
There is no hand loop on this cord. You could tie a knot or a loop into the end. The 30 foot cord weighs 1.2 lbs.
