Biting is by far the most common and most serious behavior problem in domestic dogs. In the United States, dog bites are the second most common public health hazard. With aggression an ounce of prevention is worth tons of cure. It is much easier and safer to explain to a puppy or mild-mannered adult dog that it is wrong to bite humans....than it is to deliver this same message to a three-year-old, hundred pound dog that has already developed a penchant for biting anything that moves. People must realize that every puppy and dog is a potential biter. This training booklet covers possible solutions to Preventing Aggression. Topics include: - Bite Inhibition - Puppies
- Bite Inhibition - Adult Dogs
- Counter-Conditioning
- Confidence Building Exercises - Preventing Defensiveness
- Confidence Building Exercises - Preventing Protectiveness
- Friendly Training
